This Apple Pie Fruit Smoothie Recipe gives you all the flavor of apple pie ~ only in a drink! It’s perfect on these crisp Fall days when it’s not quite cold enough for a cup of hot apple cider, but you still want to indulge in a classic Fall treat!
I’ve made this recipe two different ways. Below, you will find my daughter’s favorite version of the recipe. In it I use applesauce instead of an actual apple, which makes for a smoother smoothie. That said, my husband really prefers when I use a half of an apple instead of the applesauce in this smoothie. He likes the chunkiness of the apple and says it’s more like pie. Of course, if you have a really great blender, your apple might become as smooth as applesauce, so you’d have the same results either way! Our blender was a wedding gift from 20 years ago. It still works great, so I feel no need to replace it. But, I definitely don’t get the smoothest results.
Ingredients
- 2 cups unfiltered organic apple juice
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 cup applesauce
- 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
- 3 ice cubes
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until smooth.
This Apple Pie Fruit Smoothie would be great topped with a little whipped cream and some salted caramel sauce. Serve it as a quick and healthy after school snack, or use it as a healthy alternative to actual apple pie at the holidays. It makes two really generous servings, or it can be stretched into four smaller portions.
