Filtered Water

Bobble Water Bottle

There is nothing that sets me off quicker than someone in my family declaring:

I’ll fill my water bottle up when we get there. (the gym or practice or school)

This seriously is an ongoing argument in our house that occurs maybe once every other week when we seem to be running behind. I always object and tell them to take the 2 seconds to fill up a bottle from the filtered pitcher. My husband then makes the argument:

We have the cleanest water supply in the world.

Although I understand that, my objection is with the taste. Our water is so “clean” it tastes like you are drinking straight out of a pool. The chlorine taste just grosses me out.

A great compromise in this ongoing argument is a filtering water bottle like a bobble.
It definitely eliminates the chlorine taste of tap water. It’s also BPA free and recyclable. My main objection to the bobble? It has to be handwashed.

I’m curious to know, do you drink filtered water?
Have you tried a water bottle like Bobble? What do you think of them? As the infographic below shows, they do offer filtered water without the waste and expense of buying bottled water:

Supplementing My Healthy Eating with 4X Pro-B #DigestiveCare

Do you take any supplements? As a general rule, I believe we can get what we need nutritionally through eating a healthy diet.

Garden Harvest

In an effort to eat that healthy diet, I try to choose fruits and veggies of a variety of colors. And I strive to eat that healthy diet everyday. However, I know there are some areas where I fall short.

Recently, I’ve added 4X Pro-B Digestive Care Natural Probiotics to my daily routine and have been taking them at breakfast for the last three weeks.

4X ProB Digestive Care

Why digestive care? Good digestive health is important in combating the rise of food intolerances we’re seeing across America. Although you can get your probiotics in yogurt, I know I don’t enough yogurt. Taking one pill with my breakfast makes getting my probiotic quick, easy and effortless.

In fact, 4 X makes it incredibly easy to make sure you’ve taken your probiotic every day. The packaging actually has the days of the week on the back.

Daily Probiotic

I simply leave one week on top of the coffepot and when I get up to get my cup of coffee, I take the appropriate day. That way, I know I’ve taken it. And the best part to me? It only requires one pill that is very easy to swallow.

Since I’ve been taking 4 X Probiotic, I’ve noticed less bloating and….I actually think my stomach looks flatter. (although maybe that is wishful thinking or are the morning trips to the gym paying off?)

Interested in taking a probiotic? 4X Pro-B is available at Costco! But you don’t have to go to Costco to get 4X Pro-B – you can order online! And your shipping will be FREE! Woot!

Meeting My February Fitness Goals

A few weeks ago I mentioned I was committing to Quaker’s Map What Counts Fitness Challenge. I knew February was going to be a crazy month. We were out of town 3 out of 4 weekends. My kiddos had hectic schedules that involved lots of creative scheduling and carpooling. Despite all that, I knew I wanted to continue to get my exercise in.

So how did I do? Well, 14 out of 15 ain’t bad, right? I’m blaming an unexpected snow day for missing my mark. That day it felt so right to just stay home and get some cleaning and organizing done, that I’m okay with missing the mark. I do think that if I hadn’t made a commitment, I would have missed more than just one day. Having a goal really did help me to nix the excuses and to keep on track.

How did you do this month? Did you stay on track with your goals?

February is National Heart Health month. Even if it’s only 5 more minutes a day, what extra step will you take to stay fit?

Keeping on Track with My Fitness Goals

It’s finally here. February. I have been dreading this month since November. That was when we started putting things on the calendar and realizing that February was going to be a whirlwind month with all four of us going in different directions.

When time is at a premium, the easiest thing to neglect is exercise. Unless you make it a priority, it easily gets pushed to the wayside. In recent months, I’ve been pretty consistent in keeping up a regular exercise schedule, and I don’t want events on the calendar to hamper all the progress I’ve recently made.

How do you keep on track when you know circumstances are likely to get in the way? I’ve always found if I’m accountable to someone, it makes all the difference to keeping me on track. That’s why I decided to join the Quaker Heart Health Challenge. Quaker is asking for a commitment to complete 15 fitness activities in 30 days. The timing is perfect for me. I needed the extra push and motivation to stick with my fitness goals this crazy, hectic month. So as part of the challenge, I’m committing to getting one hour of exercise 4 days a week. When the weather is nice, I plan to take it outside and get an hour-long hike in on one of the many trails around our neighborhood. If the weather is bad, I’ll head to the gym and either take a spin class or move some weights.

Do you need someone to help keep you accountable?
Why not join me? Sign-up to be part of the Quaker Heart Health Challenge and let me know what 15 fitness activities you plan to do. And if a healthier heart isn’t incentive enough, you will be eligible to win $750!
