Shopkick BlueFriday

Today only, ShopKick is having BlueFriday and offering 200 “kicks” each time you walk into a participating store.

How to Use Shopkick to Get FREE Gift Cards!

Shopkick for Free Gift Cards

Have you downloaded Shopkick onto your smartphone? I have and I am earning FREE gift cards to Target!

Shopkick is a program that awards you points – called kicks – for walking into stores. Once in the store, you can get additional kicks for scanning products or for making purchases.

Cash your kicks in on gift cards and other rewards.

It only takes 500 kicks to earn a $2 Gift Card to Target. Once you start using Shopkicks, you will find it is incredibly easy and quick to earn 500 kicks.

There are three ways I earn my Shopkicks.

1. I have the app on whenever I enter a store. The amount of kicks you earn depends on the day and the store. As soon as you enter the store, Shopkick adds your kicks.

In one day of errands, you can rack up points pretty quick!

2. If I have time, I might scan a few items in the store. You can scan items most anywhere you shop – Costco, Target, Best Buy, Office Depot – to name a few.

If my girls are accompanying me on errands, I will often hand them my phone and have them scan the items for me. What kid doesn’t like to scan things? Plus, it becomes like a store scavenger hunt for them to find the correct item and scan it.

3. I browse through what are called “Editor’s Books”. These are books of products that Shopkick has an interest in highlighting. Scroll through these and hope to find the “Tap for a Surprise” page.

Shopkick Tap for a Surprise

Not every editor’s book will have one of these pages, but if you find one, they are typically worth 1 kick.

This is only something I do when I have some extra time. It might be while sitting in the car waiting for someone, or it might be while  watching TV. I consider that time “not doing anything” so I like to be able to feel like at least I am earning something.

Have you tried Shopkick yet? Any tips for earning kicks to share?

How to Lend a Kindle Book to Your Friend

How to Lend a Kindle Book

First, you’ll have to note that the title of this post is How to Lend a Kindle Book to Your Friend. Friend is singular. That’s because you can only lend a Kindle book one time to one friend. Ever.

This makes me want to say, “So pick that friend wisely.” I don’t know why. You can lend your Kindle books out willy-nilly if you’d like.

It’s just that “One Time” policy from Amazon makes it feel like a big deal, doesn’t it?

So. Lending your specially selected friend a Kindle book. It’s actually quite easy! Here’s how you do it:

1. Head over to your “Manage My Kindle” page. You’ll find it under your Account.

2. Select the book you’d like to loan.

Select the Kindle Book to Loan

3. Find the “More Actions” drop down menu. IF a book is available to loan, you’ll see “Loan This Title.” Of course, if the book can NOT be loaned, that option will not appear.

When scrolling through the Kindle titles in my account, I found only about 1/2 of them are eligible for that one time loan.

Lend Kindle Books

4. You will be sent to the “Loan This Book” page. From here, you simply need to add your friend’s email address and the book will be sent to them for downloading.

5. Your friend DOES NOT need to own a Kindle. They can simply download the free reading app and read the book on their desktop, tablet or smartphone.

6. Now that you’ve lent a Kindle book to your friend, they have 14 days to read the book!

I love reading on my Kindle. That’s because 9 times out of 10 I will fall asleep while reading. I big puffy heart the fact the Kindle saves my place and no bookmark is needed.

Now that I know I can lend a Kindle book ? Even if it is only one time? I’m even happier with my purchase. Nothing beats sharing a book with a friend who will enjoy it.

Isn’t sharing a great book one of the best parts about a book?

How to Earn FREE Amazon Gift Cards (In a Minimum Amount of Time!)

Earn Free Amazon Gift Cards

Did you know you can earn FREE Amazon Gift Cards?

I use the Amazon gift cards I earn to help offset the expense of buying organic groceries. You already know Amazon has great deals. Earn FREE Amazon gift cards and turn those great deals into absolute steals! In fact, Swagbucks is one of my Secret Ways to Save on Amazon (You’ve Never Heard Of).

Today I’m going to teach you how to earn FREE Amazon gift cards using Swagbucks and how to do it in the minimum amount of time.

To earn one $5 Amazon Gift Card, you need to earn 450 Swagbucks.

Can you earn more than one $5 Amazon gift card in a month on Swagbucks? You bet ya!

I know there are many, many people out there earning more than 450 Swagbucks each month. I’ve seen reports of $50 in cards in a month!

What I want to show you is how you can spend a minimum amount of time on Swagbucks each day and still be earning gift cards.

Once you start earning, you may find yourself hooked and trying to earn more!

The Greenbacks Gal Earning Swagbucks

How to Earn Free Amazon Gift Cards in a Minimum Amount of Time:

1. Complete the Survey Settings under My Account

Once you have signed up for Swagbucks, you need to find the Survey Settings under My Account. There are 16 different profiles. Earn 2 Swagbucks for completing each profile. Some of these only have one or two questions and take a total of 5 seconds to complete. Others are longer but still take well under a minute to complete.

This is a one time task that will earn you 32 Swagbucks!

2. Download the Swagbucks Toolbar

Once you have downloaded the toolbar, use it one time per day to get 1 Swagbuck. This will take you as many seconds as it takes you to type in a search term. I’ll call it 5 seconds.

Do this every day for 30 days, you’ll have another 30 Swagbucks and you’ll only have spent 5 seconds a day doing it!

3. Do the Daily Poll

Answer the poll each day to get 1 Swagbuck per day. I actually timed myself on this one. It took me 7.2 seconds.

Do this every day for 30 days, you’ll have another 30 Swagbucks.

4. Do the No Obligation Special Offers (NOSO) Daily

Each day you can do the NOSO. This will take you less than 1 minute per day to complete, depending on how many offers you will see. Today, I only saw one. So this took me about 10 seconds. I never sign up for the offers. I just keep hitting “SKIP”. Get 2 Swagbucks per day.

Do this every day for 30 days and you’ll have 60 Swagbucks.

Daily Swagbucks Tasks - Part of The Greenbacks Gal's FREE Amazon Gift Cards in a Minimum Amount of Time Strategy

5. Watch 10 Videos on the Swagbucks Channel

For every 10 videos you watch you get 3 Swagbucks. I will open Swagbucks in a separate tab. Then I play videos in one tab while I go through emails in another tab. I’m earning Swagbucks while doing something I would be on the computer for anyway. I don’t even log this as time. If you check email everyday, and you can multitask, this is an incredibly easy way to earn Swagbucks.

Do this every day for 30 days and you’ll have another 90 Swagbucks.

6. Play Swag Jump

Play the free game Swag Jump. I have found by playing it two times I earn two Swagbucks after the second round. Again, I timed myself for this one. It took me 1 minute and 54 seconds to earn these 2 Swagbucks. You have to watch an ad prior to playing which is what eats up your time.

Do this every day for 30 days and get another 60 Swagbucks.

Doing those 5 daily tasks will net you 302 Swagbucks in 30 days. You need 450 Swagbucks to get a $5 Amazon Gift Card. You are more than halfway there! And you only spent two minutes and 27 seconds of extra time per day!

Want to keep earning? Here are more ways:

7. Search the Web on Fridays during Mega Swagbucks Day

You’ve already downloaded the Swagbucks toolbar. On Friday, you can earn double the Swagbucks for your searches. Here’s an idea: Have your laptop or tablet open on your lap while you are watching TV. Try doing a search for every commercial you see. Those swagbucks will really start to add up!

8. Watch the Swagbucks Facebook page for Swag Codes

If I think about it when I am on Facebook, I will check in on the Swagbucks Facebook page and see if there is a Swag Code. These swag codes are worth different amounts but all you have to do is enter the code on the swagbucks page. It’s a quick and easy way to earn.

Those are my best strategies for earning Amazon Gift Cards in a minimum amount of time. Do you already use Swagbucks? What is your favorite way to earn? Share in the comments so we can all earn together!

6 of the Best Sources for Free Kindle Downloads

6 of the Best Sources for Kindle Free Downloads

When I first got my Kindle, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. I’m an avid reader and had a long standing relationship with my public library. I was certain the Kindle was going to end up costing me more than just the purchase price.

However, I discovered I love reading on a Kindle. Every night I read in bed before falling asleep. Some (ahem, most) nights I fall asleep mid-sentence. Reading on my Kindle means I never lose my place since it stays on the last page I’ve read.

So how happy am I that I can not only read on my favorite new device, but I can also get tons of free downloads – including borrowing books from my library!

Of course, if you don’t have a Kindle, you can always download the free reading app. After you download the app, you can download these free books and read on your phone, tablet, or computer!

Here are the 6 Best Sources I’ve found for FREE Kindle Downloads:

1. Kindle Bestsellers List

From the Amazon homepage, you want to search by Kindle eBooks (top red arrow). Then, on the left hand side, look for Kindle Best Sellers (second red arrow). Click on the Best Sellers link.

Kindle Bestsellers

Once you are on the best sellers page, you will see you can look at the Top 100 Free Kindle eBooks.

Top 100 Free Kindle eBooks

Scroll through the free eBooks to find titles that appeal to you and download them. Please note: Prices on Amazon are subject to change at any time. If you see a title that you think you might like to read, be sure to download it right away.

2. Borrow From the Library

Even though you’ve switched to an eReader, you can still borrow your books from the library for FREE!

Start by heading to your library’s website. Then, find the link to OverDrive. The link on my library’s website looks like this:

Overdrive

Your library’s might look different. What you are looking for is OverDrive. If you have difficulty finding it, ask your librarian.

Once you have found OverDrive, click it to find the selection of FREE library books you can download to your Kindle.

If you find a book you’d like to borrow, click the checkout button. You will be prompted to log-in to your public library account using your library card number and a pin. Once you are logged in, you can designate the format in which you’d like to read the eBook. Select Kindle and it will send you to your Amazon cart where you can load the book onto your Kindle and borrow it for FREE.

3. Daily Emails from BookBub –

Authors of eBooks often put their books on sale at a deeply discounted price, or they may even offer them for free. There is no good way to know when this will happen or how long the book will remain at that price. That is, there is no way to know unless you subscribe to BookBub. Authors will inform BookBub of their sale dates, and BookBub will send you a daily email. Simply select the genres of books that appeal to you, and each night BookBub will email you a list of FREE ebooks!

4. Amazon Prime Members Read

Amazon just keeps improving its Amazon Prime program. Recently, they added Amazon Prime Members Read. This is a selection of over a thousand books and magazines that can be downloaded and read.

If you aren’t a Prime member, get an Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial and read for 30 days for free!

5. Best Selling Apps List

Again, this is for those of you with a Kindle Fire. From the Amazon homepage, you want to search by Apps for Android (top red arrow). Then, on the left hand side, look for Best Sellers (second red arrow). Click on the Best Sellers link.

Best Sellers Apps for Android

Once you are on the best sellers page, you will see you can look at the Top 100 Free Android Apps.

Scroll through the free apps to find those that appeal to you and download them. Please note: Prices on Amazon are subject to change at any time. If you see an app that you think you might like, be sure to download it right away.

6. FREE Amazon Instant Videos

If you have the Kindle Fire, and are looking for some FREE instant videos, there isn’t a great selection, but there is a selection.

Head to the FREE TV Episodes page on Amazon and you can download a very small selection.
