If you pay attention to the retail sale cycles, you’ll know they’re all saying – Summer is OVER! Time to start thinking school supplies!
When I saw the Staples ad with 16 $1 school supply items right on the front cover, I felt the need to grab a paper bag in case I started hyperventilating. Didn’t I just drive my last carpool home? Aren’t I still in the middle of the luxurious break we call summer?
Then I found that Target just released a bunch of new printable school supply coupons that are making for some fantastic deals.

This isn’t all bad news. There is a silver lining. It’s called Summer Clearance Sales. While you are in gathering up some .02 pens, make sure you hit the clearance area. Because regardless of what the retail cycle says, there are still SEVEN more weeks of my summer left. And I plan of fully enjoying them! So look for those sales on the items your kids were begging you to buy, but you didn’t have the exorbitant sum on. Those items should be coming down in price.

I know Tiffany! I know! But that’s exactly how I feel when these stores start slapping us with school supply sales! How can I possible be thinking of school yet? Sorry for the cruel jolt this am.
I still have to order homeschool books and decide what I’m teaching this year. Yikes! Maybe I’ll make some sweet tea and sit on the backporch with my catalogs. Best of both worlds, right?
